Pennies for Pasta continues. Bring in cash and change for your homeroom to compete. At the start of the day the homerooms of Mrs. Hicks, Mrs. Gales, and Mrs. Sheppard were leading but just a few dollars could make the difference in a first place finish. There are LOTS of Spring Fever events scheduled for May! On the 5th join us after school for a dance. On Thursday, May 11th PTO’s fundraiser will be at Airbound Trampoline Park in Greensboro. The cost for the two hour bounce will be $18 and if you need “gripper” socks those are an additional $2. PTO’s allotted time slot at Airbound is 2 to 8 p.m. On Friday, May 26th from 6 until 9 pm the end-of-year dance for 8th grade will be FREE to 8th graders. We encourage the attendance of all 8th grade students and remind you that clothing doesn’t matter as long as it’s within the parameters of the district’s dress code. Save those prom dresses (and mom and dad’s money) for high school, and just come out in what you have and have a good time. Also Friday, May 26th will be the final day for lunch charges to give our cafeteria staff time to collect outstanding money owed. Students without money in their accounts who do not bring money for lunch will be expected to bring their own lunch from home. Next week is faculty/staff appreciation week. Thanks to PTO for sponsoring lunch on Tuesday, May 5th! PTO always welcomes dessert donations for the event, and those may be dropped off in the office. As you think about the week ahead, teachers and other staff always appreciate a note of thanks for a job well done. End-of-year testing begins on Friday, May 26th and so we ask that to avoid make up testing for your child that you plan appointments and absences accordingly. All of this is still ahead on the road to success!
