Parents, please be looking for testing information sent home with your child today.  
If you have a rising sixth grader in your house, please plan to join us tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1st, at 5 or 7 p.m. for a general information session and at 4 or 6 p.m. for a band interest meeting.
PTO will be meeting in the media center at 6 p.m. tomorrow as well.
This week the Athletic Boosters organization plans to send home an envelope with student athletes regarding the upcoming banquet.  Payment is due back by May 10th.  Athletes will be provided meals at no cost thanks to Boosters.
Athletic Boosters will meet on Tuesday, May 2nd at 3:30 p.m. in the media center.
Soccer and baseball tournament play is next week with finals on Friday, May 10th.
We anticipate sports physicals to be offered after school at Providence Grove High School next Thursday, May 9th.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week!  PTO invites you to demonstrate your thanks by donating a dessert for the faculty/staff lunch to be held on Tuesday, May 7th.
May 7th is also interim report day.
PTO’s Krispy Kreme drive through will be open for business before school on Thursday, May 9th.
Our hunter safety team recently competed at the state level.  Congratulations to Cash who earned first place in rifle in individual competition!
As a reminder to our eighth graders and their parents - School fees and fines should be paid in full to participate in the upcoming dance.  Please see our school treasurer, Mrs. Cox (, if you have questions about your balance. 
Let us know if you are available to proctor during exam week - May 28 - 31.  The commitment involves completing a brief training session and providing a secure testing environment on each test day.  Please contact our receptionist at 336-622-5808.

NE Info @ May 12, 2020 This week core teachers are working on state-required transition plans individualized by student and so contacts to your home may be fewer in number. As you work remotely, if you need assistance, do not hesitate to contact your teachers by email and they will be back in touch with you as quickly as possible. When you send email messages, if you do that from the school website the Message Tracker system sends an email back to the original sender that must be verified before the message is sent to the school system employee. If you missed the last instructional packet pick up please arrange to stop by the school between 10 am and 1 pm this week to pick up the envelope. Some envelopes contain important updates about vaccinations and your child’s readiness for the next school year. If your child had remaining money in a lunch account, the funds will remain in the lunch account. For eighth graders moving to high school, the money will move to the high school account. As a reminder, due to recent legislation we expect the school year to begin earlier, with a new start date on August 17th. While most of our students have been completing work online and submitting work electronically you may drop off completed paper packets at the school on Thursday, May 21st. Please also mark your calendar for Thursday, June 4th as we will be collecting from you school property such as chrome books, text books, and library books. We ask that all chrome books be charged fully for drop off day. Again, we will be collecting school property on Thursday, June 4th. The school system has designated Tuesday, June 9th as the final remote learning date. Thank you for the tremendous support during “Appreciation Week” last week!
