I attended the the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated in 1994 with a BA in Middle Grades Education with concentrations and licensure in language arts and social studies.  I have also added on licensure for AIG through a two-year program with High Point University and licensure for literacy coaching through a three-year program with North Carolina Teacher Academy.

Upon graduation in 1994, I have spent 6 years running a tutoring business and teaching developmental English at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington.  After moving to Asheboro, I spent two years teaching U.S. History, World History, Government, freshman English, and senior English at Fayetteville Street Christian School.  The next six years were spent teaching 7th grade language arts at Uwharrie Middle school. I then started the state literacy coach training and transferred to ATMS to serve as their literacy coach.  I spent one year in an ELA classroom at ATMS before moving to an ELA classroom at SERMS.  Since leaving SERMS, I have served as instructional lead teacher and testing coordinator at NERMS.

My name is Robin Hevner, and I am the lead teacher at NERMS.  I am from the Asheboro area but moved to Wilmington to attend college and begin my first jobs.  Since moving back to Asheboro with my Wilmington-native husband, I have had two children who are now 10 and 5.  I love reading, taking pictures--of my two girlies, and working with the wonderful people at NERMS.
