Bio

Hi! My name is Jack Embree and I have 3 beautiful children and a wonderful wife of 16 years. I love spending time with my family. We travel a lot and I enjoy planning those trips for my family. I want my family to have the same experiences I had growing up!

My family has a very big connection to education. My dad has taught for 49 years, my mom taught for 35 years, my grandmother taught for 30 years, my step-mom taught for 30 years and my sister has been teaching for about 14 years. However, my career did not begin in education. I graduated from Eastern Randolph High School and went on to attend East Carolina University. I graduated with a business degree and had various jobs including Lowes Foods. I worked as a manager for 5 years, and then had my oldest son. I realized then the grocery store hours were too much with a family. So, I began teaching in Randolph County at SERMS as a 7th grade Social Studies teacher. I taught for 7 seven years. During that time I got my masters in middle grade social studies and achieved National Board status. I then was offered the position at Ramseur Elementary as the Media Specialist. During my time there I have gotten my masters in Library Science.  I also teach Drivers Education at Eastern Randolph. This year I am excited to be the Media Specialist at NERMS.

My son, Colton, is a Junior at Eastern Randolph High School. He participates in dance and band (he is only 16 but has been taking piano lessons for 11 years), he also is a Eagle scout. My daughter, Viletta, is a 7th grader at NERMS. She participates is cheerleading at Randolph Gymnastics Academy and NERMS.   My youngest son, Magnum is 6years and attends Franklinville Elementary. He loves the outdoors and enjoys playing with his older brother and sister. He plays baseball at the YMCA. As you can see we stay very busy. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
