The opening reception for Youth Art Month was held yesterday at the Randolph Arts Guild in downtown Asheboro. Student artwork will be on display throughout March. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Tomorrow is our first day of Dr. Seuss Days. Don’t forget to come dressed for Wacky Wednesday. Wear your clothes inside out, backwards or mismatched. We can’t wait to see how WaCkY you can be!

Today, we celebrated students who hit their monthly attendance goal. What better way to celebrate than a dance party?! These students never miss a chance to cha-cha and never miss a day of school (they also stay all day long)!
A big shout out to our classroom winners too! These teachers had the most students present daily. Way to go Stars! We are so happy to see your smiling faces everyday.

Today, the Archdale Police Department talked to our fifth grade students about online safety.
Here are some tips for parents to keep your students safe:
1. Set clear boundaries: Establish rules about which websites and apps are safe to use, how much screen time is allowed, and what kind of content is appropriate.
2. Use parental controls: Utilize built-in parental controls on devices and apps to monitor activity, block inappropriate content, and set time limits on usage.
3. Encourage open communication: Foster a habit of regular conversations about online experiences. Let kids know they can come to you if something feels uncomfortable or unsafe. Talk about the potential risk of cyberbullying and the lasting impact of their digital footprint.
4. Social media apps have minimum age requirements (typically 13). The minimum age for social media apps is set to ensure that users have the maturity and understanding necessary to engage, responsibly and safely in the digital world.

Who’s going to the district competition for Battle of the Books?! The STARS are.
We are so proud of our EBOB team as they earned a spot at the district level competition on March 13th. Help us wish them the best of luck below.
The Randolph County School System will operate on our regular schedule tomorrow (Friday, 2/21/25).
It may be cold and snowy outside, but we’re still thinking about our STARS that swam and competed in the Special Olympics this week.
They left for competition in style, with a school wide hallway celebration from their biggest fans. We are so proud!

✨ What an incredible STEAM Night with the STARS! ✨ This week, with the help of local high schools, many of our Stars worked on their culinary skills, brushed up on coding, practiced their aim with archery, learned about the human body and so much more! We have to know, which station was your students favorite?!
