NERMS Celebrates “Dolly Day” with Pink, Jeans and a Whole Lot of Heart

When Principal Revels heard the news of Dolly Parton’s passing, she knew the NERMS family needed a way to celebrate the life and legacy of someone who brought joy, kindness, and a love of reading to generations of children.

So, with a little humor and a lot of heart, Principal Revels declared the next school day “Dolly Day” at Northeastern Randolph Middle School! 💕🌸

Staff were invited to wear pink and jeans in honor of Dolly’s signature style and her incredible commitment to children and literacy through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. For those who weren’t quite ready to embrace pink, red was offered as an official “Dolly Day” substitute for the gentlemen!

The message to staff captured the spirit perfectly: “Now go find that pink shirt, channel your inner Dolly, and let’s make tomorrow a celebration…”

What started as a lighthearted response to a difficult day became a wonderful opportunity for the NERMS staff to come together, celebrate Dolly’s legacy, and share a little joy with one another.

At NERMS, even the simplest gestures can make a big difference—and sometimes, a little pink and a pair of jeans are exactly what a school family needs. 💕👖🌸
